GEORGIAN SKULL Embarks On 55-Date Summer Tour
June 5, 2007Canadian "groove & doom" kings GEORGIAN SKULL are doing something this summer that most young bands these days can't do — that is, a 55-date, 56-day North American tour. The trek, which is scheduled to make a stop in Fredricton, New Brunswick Tuesday night (June 5),will introduce the band's latest addition — new bassist and now full-time member, Sasha "Slash" Wilczynski.
GEORGIAN SKULL was formed out of the ashes of MISTER BONES, which featured the band's frontman, Alex Petrovich, and guitarist Steve Dugal. In 2006 they put their previous group to rest and began playing with drummer Ace Piva after mutually parting ways with former drummer Adam Micalczuk. They found a new bassist and created a new sound under the flag of GEORGIAN SKULL. Their newest EP, "Smell the Strap", is slated for a summer release.
Heavily influenced by PANTERA, GEORGIAN SKULL combines elements of classic and nu-metal to create a fusion of angry and passionate rock sure to satisfy all metalheads.
"We're definitely a mix of numetal and stoner metal," said Petrovich. "We want to be known as the most dominant stoner band in Canada."
